We don't have a licence, so if you intend to sell alcohol you need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice. If you have any doubts, check with the Licensing Officer at West Dorset District Council. The
new Licensing Law requires application to the Licensing Authority, which is the Licensing Officer at West Dorset District Council, and can be made at any time although due notice is required (you are advised to allow at least 28 days. You must submit two copies of the Notice application to the Licensing Officer, and also a third copy to the Licensing Oddicer of West Dorset Division of the police. A fee of £21 is payable with each event, and you may apply for more than one event.
Once
the approval is granted, the grantee is responsible for conforming to the licensing laws, including observing the age requirements.

if the function is a private one, where alcohol is not sold, it may be served without the need to hold an TEN
