This is the home page for the Village Hall

This page will tell you what is on at the Village Hall, who to contact if you wish to use it, and also who the regular users are. If you wish to know about any of their functions or activities we provide a link to their pages, if they maintain separate pages of their own. If they don't we will provide you with contact names and phone numbers for your enquiries.

In any case, if you don't know about the Hall, here is some useful information:

The Hall is situated in Osmington and is actually just off Shortlake Lane and is sited about 50 metres up the lane, to its left (south) in a playing field which was donated to the Village by Sir Fred Pontin on 22nd March 1966.

The Village Hall was opened in December 2001 and is a splendid modern building which replaces the old wooden Village Hall, an ex-Army wooden hut which was in use for more than 80 years. The playing field is held in trust by the Parish Council, although the Village Hall is administered by a separate Trust, responsible to the Charity Commission. The Village Hall is therefore separate from the Playing field which also houses the Playground and Meeting Place implemented by the efforts of the Jubilee Playground Committee.

As well as having its regular users, the Hall can be booked for events and functions.

The car park is also part of the playing field and is provided for users of the Hall or playground and other users of the playing field. It is not intended for nor suitable for the parking of buses or HGVs. Vehicle owners and drivers use the car park entirely at their own risk. The Village Hall Trustees cannot be held responsible for loss of or from vehicles, or damage to those vehicles while they are parked or manoeuvring in the car park.
