Minutes of the meeting held at Osmington Village Hall on Wednesday 21 April 2004 at 7.30 pm
- PRESENT: Mike Hart, Carol Sutton, Peter Cobner, Richard Jones, Chris Russell, Malcolm and Wendy Shoyer
- APOLOGIES were received from David Kaile
- MINUTES of the meeting of 6th February were approved.
- MATTERS ARISING
- The service started on 19th March as planned.
- There were no takers from Owermoigne
- The Age Concern car park was unsuitable
- MEETING WITH HELEN REED
- Passengers must wear seat belts
- Drivers to lock the bus at Kingston Maurward and keep the keys
- In the event of breakdown drivers should ring Nordcat (number displayed in bus)
- No invoice has been received from Nordcat yet.
- THE SERVICE
- The take up was 6 for the first trip but there have been fewer since.
- Drivers have been able to park in side street without cost but also possible to park for £1 all day at Market car park
- Dropping passengers at Tesco’s is no problem if requested
- The booking service has worked well
- Drivers should re-fill with diesel if it is low (below half) and report any damage to bus seen when it is collected from Kingston Maurward
- At present the bus is only available on Fridays in term time
- Having a conductor aboard was very useful to help with passengers

- An account was opened as agreed and presently stands at £68

Tim Peto-Clark does not want to be on the Rota but has offered to fill in if we need a driver
- ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Mike was approached about possible interest in our service in Broadmayne. Osmington residents have priority but it might be possible to extend the service. Broadmayne passengers could be collected from the bus stop but returned to homes with shopping if needed. A fare of £3 return was agreed for this service.
Ways of providing a bus during school/college holidays were considered.
The service needed further advertising.
Passengers had not been canvassed for their impressions of the service.

during the holidays
A poster advertising the service could be displayed on the Osmington Society notice board and a photo sent to the Echo
The meeting closed at 8.15 pm
